History

Relexano Delmandi hides every day in the land of Eorzea. Hiding from the watchful eyes of everyone around him while trying to pretend to be just the average citizen of La Noscea. In reality though he harbors a much deeper secret. Relex, or as he was formerly known Rex sas Dephius, is a former Garlean soldier. A member of the XIVth that fled from his role and deserted himself into his enemy's land. All the while trying to keep under the radar of other citizens and doing his best just to survive. Little is known about what caused his desire to leave the Empire's service. He has no problem speaking out his lack of love for his homeland. Yet prying any further beyond reveals perhaps it was loss that soured his view. The most commonly heard words leaving his mouth on the subject are "I have no home to return to."Despite being born to a prominent Garlean house he was offered no luxuries in life. From the age of six onwards he was trained to fight all at the behest of his father. A cold father who never cared for the idea of having a second child, and saw Rex only as an asset to be used to help elevate the family name. So the expendable child was taught without mercy to know to serve. He grew every day by training with numerous tutors. Tutors explicitly instructed not to coddle the boy and raise him to know the fear of death and the blinding pain of a sword wound. Over and over this boy was taught lessons. Every day he accumulated more knowledge, more skill, and more importantly more scars to remind him of these lessons. He endured it all not out of fear, but out of love for the one source of light in his life. Everything he endured for his older brother Decimus.Years went by Rex was handed over to serve the Empire. Assigned to the XIVth he faithfully served in the spearhead operation to attack Eorzea directly. But he never made it to the country's shores. Injured prior to the Battle of Silvertear skies he was forced to watch from the sidelines as the Agrius was destroyed alongside his entire platoon. After the incident he returned to Garlemald for re-assignment at the behest of his father.Little is known of what transpired after. People rarely speak on the subject. A prominent soldier who rose through the ranks of the Garlean army simply vanished after the untimely death of his brother Decimus. He was presumed dead after an incident involving Doman citizens led to an attack on his base. Unknown to many this was simply the chance Relex took to finally be done with the military lifestyle. To put behind all the pain he had endured over the years and receive a fresh start. Rex sas Dephius died, and Relexano Delmandi was born as he hid away on a cargo ship and worked from port to port until he arrived in Eorzea where he sought to hide amongst his former enemies. A new life for a tired soldier.
